The Wright’s make a bolt at the Bournemouth Bay Run 2018
Stuart Wright took part in his 3rd, 10k run on 8th April 2018. This time he was joined by his 10-year-old son, Harrison who ran alongside in the 1k fun run for children (under 11).
The Health-on-Line Bournemouth Bay Run in association with the British Heart Foundation took place on Sunday 8th April 2018. Candidates were able to choose from a variety of distances all taking place against the backdrop of Bournemouth’s famous seven-mile stretch of golden sand and sparkling seas. Thousands of runners put their best foot forward for the Bournemouth Bay Run at the same time as taking in the sea air and breath-taking scenery while running for a great cause!
Stuart was determined to beat his previous best of 55 minutes and 41 seconds and we are pleased to announce that he successfully did so with a new personal best time of 53 minutes and 39 seconds for a 10k run! In addition, Harrison thoroughly enjoyed his first run and landed a speedy time of 4 minutes and 40 seconds! He may well be a firm running partner alongside his father for future runs!
The unseasonably chilly and wet weather failed to put off runners, many of whom donned masks and capes to reflect the event's 'superhero' theme. The run, now in its 36th year, offered half marathon, 10k and 5k routes, as well as a 1km family fun run along the seafront. Participants raised funds for the British Heart Foundation with their admission fees. However, a range of other charities and organisations were also supported.
