Metis Homes Shortlisted for Two South Coast Property Awards for Forest Edge Development.
Metis Homes has been shortlisted in two prestigious categories at the upcoming South Coast Property Awards 2025 – Residential Development of the Year and Sustainable Development of the Year, both recognising the outstanding success of its Forest Edge scheme in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.
The £21.5m development delivered 63 homes at the northern gateway to the New Forest National Park, in an area that borders both a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). In addition to creating much-needed homes, Forest Edge has achieved over 30% Biodiversity Net Gain and provided extensive enhancements to local ecology, infrastructure, and community access.
All homes achieved EPC-B ratings and featured energy-efficient measures such as modern insulation, EV charging points, and solar PV panels. Public open spaces make up nearly half the site and include play areas, a dog agility course, and new pedestrian and cycle links to nearby river trails and downlands. The development also delivered 17 affordable homes, sold to the New Forest District Council, and contributed significantly to local school and infrastructure improvements.
David Oakley, Sales and Marketing Director at Metis Homes, said: “Forest Edge is a fantastic example of how sensitive, well-considered development can benefit both the environment and local people. We’re incredibly proud to be recognised for this project, which reflects our team’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and placemaking.”
The winners of the South Coast Property Awards 2025 will be announced on the 12th of June at the Hilton Utilita Bowl in Southampton.
