Fawley Rockets Youth Team sports new kit thanks to sponsorship from Metis Homes

Local youth football team, the Fawley Rockets, have benefitted from a new kit this season thanks to sponsorship funds provided by Winchester-based, award-winning housebuilder Metis Homes.

The youth team within the Fawley Falcons YFC, all aged under nine, had outgrown their existing kit used for the previous two seasons and were in need of some new attire. Award-winning Metis Homes suppled the team with much needed funds that not only provided them with the new strip, but also a rain jacket to keep them dry during training and matches.

Wayne Youren, Fawley Rockets coach, said: “Without the kind sponsorship from Metis Homes, we would have not been able to purchase these kits and would not be able to enter the team into the New Forest District Youth Football League.

“Every one of these boys have come so far in the short time they have been with this team and I am a very proud coach to say the least. I hope with the kind sponsorship from Metis Homes these boys carry on improving but most of all just enjoy playing the beautiful game.”

Fawley Rockets were formed in January 2015 off the back of a very successful Fawley Falcon soccer school, which produced four teams consisting of nine players. The team is still going strong today and have added to their squads over the years, which now average 10 players per team.

Adam O’Brien, Managing Director at Metis Homes, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Fawley Rockets this year and providing them with a much needed new kit. To hear they are playing so well and attracting new team members is wonderful. There are so many benefits to playing sport and you can never start too early!”
