Award-winning Winchester housebuilder celebrates ten years in business

Award-winning local housebuilder Metis Homes is celebrating ten successful years in business this year (2018). The anniversary swiftly follows the company’s succession of recent industry accolades, including Gold for ‘Best Small Housebuilder’ in the prestigious WhatHouse? Awards.

Founded in 2008 by Managing Director Adam O’Brien, Tony Burton and the RO Group, the business has gone from strength to strength since. The team of industry experts now stands at 20, with new members having recently joined the business.

Metis Homes has completed an eclectic mix of high quality, bespoke developments in prime locations throughout Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Dorset during its ten years as a leading small housebuilder, delivering around 65 new homes a year. Ranging from contemporary town centre apartment schemes to luxury detached properties, Metis has provided homes for a diverse market of buyers.

And as the company continues to enjoy steady growth and looks ahead to a robust pipeline of projects, it’s aiming to increase its outputs to between 70-85 units in its key locations.

Adam O’Brien, Managing Director at Metis Homes, said: “We’ve had a fantastic ten years and I am very proud of the Metis brand, the homes we deliver and the team behind all that we do. When we started out, the UK was just entering a period of recession – challenging for any business. We used this time to gradually develop the company and served by prudent decision making and strong relationships, we emerged with good results and, hopefully, a growing reputation for delivering quality homes and providing excellent customer service.

“A hallmark of this success has been industry recognition and among our most notable achievements are the awards we have won from WhatHouse? in the Small Housebuilder category. In 2016 we achieved Silver, and last year we followed this by taking Gold. We have also won awards for our developments at Eastgate in Dorchester and Catherine’s Walk in Guildford.

“The quality of a Metis home / scheme is recognised by our 100 percent success rate at achieving planning permission, a standard that we are justly proud of. We approach every site we look to acquire with a careful and committed strategic focus  – talking to the local community, councillors and other stakeholders to make sure our plans are in line with and respond to local needs. Our reputation is very important to us, and this starts and ends with making sure we are doing all we can to be a considerate housebuilder.

“Ten years is a fantastic milestone and one we will certainly be embracing and celebrating this year!”
