Head teacher praises Metis Homes

We try hard to minimise disruption and to work closely with local communities during construction, and so it was a pleasure to receive the following comments from Jayne Broach, Head Teacher Alton Infant School:

“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Metis Homes during the construction of Hunters Mews, next door to our school in Alton.

We initially had some trepidation about building work being carried out so close to the school, but this was soon dispelled. In fact, we barely noticed any noise at all. The site manager Andy Small was simply brilliant. The children were fascinated by what was going on and he talked to them at assemblies, invited them round to see the site and ran a competition. The builders couldn’t have been more helpful, keeping us fully informed at every stage and carrying out countless jobs for the school, including moving our giant sand pit over half term.

We were also very grateful to Metis Homes for their very generous contribution towards replacing the soft play surface of the children’s fitness trail.

All in all it was a very good experience and the children learned a lot about building houses. We will all miss the builders now that Hunters Mews is finished!”

We’re pleased to report that all five of the traditionally-styled cottages at Hunters Mews are complete and occupied – on schedule.
